The annual Australian Fleece Competition is the largest fully measured fleece competition in the world.
Run jointly by Landmark, AWTA and the Australian Sheep Breeders’ Association, the competition forms part of the Australian Sheep & Wool Show held in Bendigo, Victoria.
To determine the top fleece in the competition, all are weighed and sampled for objective measurement (including length and strength), under standard procedures of the Australian Wool Testing Authority (AWTA).
Afterwards, vendors have the option of selling their fleece at auction with all proceeds going to a nominated charity.
